The report attributed the account to tenants and described Brookside as the manager; it did not establish a court or regulator finding against Brookside.
  • PROJECT CANCELLED Reported December 28, 2020; update January 4, 2021 After Brookside purchased a Nicholasville, Kentucky apartment complex in December 2020, about 20 tenants reported receiving non-renewal notices requiring them to leave by January 31, 2021; tenants alleged flooding and other longstanding conditions, while a later update said management indicated deposits would be returned and relocation assistance considered, so the matter appears to have been resolved as a displacement rather than an abandoned development.

In December 2022, up to 500 pipes reportedly burst at Brookside-managed Veridian apartments in Lexington, Kentucky; five apartments were condemned, several families were left homeless and others were without water. The report attributed the account to tenants and described Brookside as the manager; it did not establish a court or regulator finding against Brookside.

After Brookside purchased a Nicholasville, Kentucky apartment complex in December 2020, about 20 tenants reported receiving non-renewal notices requiring them to leave by January 31, 2021; tenants alleged flooding and other longstanding conditions, while a later update said management indicated deposits would be returned and relocation assistance considered, so the matter appears to have been resolved as a displacement rather than an abandoned development.

A BBB complainant reported in March 2026 that an apartment managed by Brookside was not as represented and contained alleged safety defects including an unsecured front door, exposed wiring, broken glass and mold; Brookside denied that the unit was uninhabitable and said it remained willing to address legitimate maintenance concerns.
