In the older 443 Greenwich Street matter, a lender called a default after the project entity failed to repay a $20 million mezzanine loan plus reported interest, and W-D Group foreclosed on KAR owner Shahab Karmely’s stake; Karmely disputed the default and sued, while a federal judge refused to block the auction.
