On May 23–27, 2025, Istanbul prosecutors’ corruption investigation into alleged irregularities at İSTAÇ, KİPTAŞ and an İBB department led to the arrest and judicial detention of KİPTAŞ board chair Ali Kurt among 25 suspects; the allegations included bribery, extortion, qualified fraud and bid-rigging, while Kurt denied the commission and witness allegations.
